Custom Chinese Herbal Formulas

Chinese herbal formulas are a vital component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and are based upon over 5,000 years of clinical experience and Chinese Herbology study. The effectiveness of these customized herbal formulas is directly correlated with the practitioner’s ability to prescribe the correct combination based on the pattern of disharmony diagnosis. Unlike over-the-counter herbs, these formulas are specially mixed for each individual and are often modified as the healing process progresses.

The herbs TrueMind® Center uses are concentrated powders derived from the raw Chinese herbs. They are 100% natural, free from any preservatives, and grown in China. They are safe when properly prescribed by a skilled TCM practitioner.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs work together to drive the healing process: whereas acupuncture stimulates specific acupoints to release blocked energy, herbs work at a cellular level to restore the flow of energy.

Each formula usually contains 5 to 15 different components. A “principal” herb (or combination of herbs) addresses the root of the problem. “Minister” herbs enhance the effects of the principal herbs, and “adjunct” herbs make the formula less harsh. “Neutralizer” herbs are added to help the herbs work together.

There are approximately 250 common Chinese herbs used in TCM; Dr. Lin’s average prescription consists of 8 different herbs.
